چکیده

A 51-year old woman was treated for atrial fibrillation. A chest X-ray showed dextrocardia. Transthoracic echocardiography revealed a congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries. Multidetector64 computerized tomography scan imaging confirmed the diagnosis (Fig. 1) and, additionally, showed a persistent left superior vena cava and a partial anomalous pulmonary venous connection (Fig. 2).

Surgical repair of both atrioventricular valves in congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries with dextrocardia.

Patients with congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries (CCTGA) have a morphologically right ventricle (mRV) that supports the systemic circulation. In these patients, regurgitation of the systemic tricuspid valve (TV) is one of the strongest risk factors for congestive heart failure and mRV dysfunction. Herein, we report the case of a patient with CCTGA plus dextrocardia who u...

Baffle puncture guided by transoesophageal echocardiography in a patient with dextrocardia and Mustard correction.

A baffle puncture is a challenging procedure but can be safely done using direct visualization of the region of interest. To our knowledge, however, it has never been performed in a patient with dextrocardia. We present a 62-year-old male with dextrocardia, right isomerism, congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries, persistent left-sided superior and inferior caval veins, atria...

[Echocardiographic diagnosis of transposition of the great arteries associated with anomalous pulmonary venous connection].

We report 2 cases of transposition of the great arteries associated with anomalous pulmonary venous connection emphasizing the clinical findings, the diagnosis, and the evolution of the association. One of the patients had the anomalous pulmonary venous connection in its total infradiaphragmatic form, in the portal system, and the other patient had a partial form, in which an anomalous connecti...

Percutaneous tricuspid valve repair using MitraClip® for the treatment of severe tricuspid valve regurgitation in a patient with congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries

In selected patients, mitral valve repair using MitraClip® (Abbott, USA) is a relatively safe and well-tolerated treatment for significant mitral regurgitation [1–3]. We describe a 56-year-old female with congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries (ccTGA) and dextrocardia (Fig. 1a) with recurrent episodes of heart failure caused by a combination of systemic (right) ventricular f...

Congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries treated by partial systemic ventriculectomy.

Congenitally corrected transposition of the great arteries (CCTGA) is a rare congenital heart disease characterized by atrioventricular (AV) and ventriculo-arterial discordance;(1) that is, the left ventricle supports the pulmonary circulation and the right ventricle supports the systemic circulation. The most common cardiac anomalies in CCTGA include ventricular septal defect, pulmonary outflo...
